Lachlan Wilson

Background

I was diagnosed in April 2010 and a pet scan was done at the beginning of May.

I had glands removed from my neck, then chemotherapy and radiation for, I think, seven weeks.

The main challenges were eating enough because of the lack of taste and pain – lucky I was overweight!

The only tip I have is do whatever the doctors and other staff tell you to do, no matter how hard.

I also talked to friends who had the head and neck cancer – it was good to know that others had got through the last week of radiation when I wanted to stop.

Side effects are dry mouth, swollen left side of my face, depression.
