1pm-3pm, Saturday 24 August 2019
Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre
Powerhouse Rd, Casula, NSW 2170
In partnership with Liverpool Hospital, we invite members of the local community to engage in a free workshop exploring the experience of cancer. By transforming a radiation mask used in the treatment of head and neck cancers, creativity offers a visual voice; allowing participants to investigate treatment, health, healing and cancer as a disease through making.
The work produced will be displayed at Casula Powerhouse Liverpool, for the Bravery Unmasked exhibition from 2 November 2019. All of the masks will be available to purchase for $50. The money from the sale of masks in the exhibition will be donated back to the SWS Cancer Therapy Centre.
If you would like to attend this workshop please RSVP to reception@casulapowerhouse.com. Alternatively, if you cannot attend this workshop and would like to participate in mask-making please contact reception to arrange mask collection.
Masks made for the exhibition are required to be dropped off at reception on Sunday 29th September 2019 any sold and unsold masks need to be collected on Sunday 15th December 2019. If masks are not collected they will be re-purposed or re-sold in the exhibition next year.
